Farmers’ conclave at Noamundi explores future in organic farming

Noamundi, February 27: In a move towards promotion of the all-round inclusive growth for the farmers of the region, Tata Steel organised VAARTA, an annual farmers conclave at Sports Complex, Noamundi. Anupam Nandi, Regional Controller of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Ranchi Region graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Pankaj Satija, General Manager, Ore Mines & Quarries (OMQ) Division, Tata Steel and Debdoot Mohanty, Head CSR- Jharkhand & New Projects, Tata Steel.

“Go Organic, Stay Healthy” is theme this year and the target is to sensitize and drive awareness among farmers of the region on bio-fertilizer, bio-pesticides, dryland framing, animal husbandry and lac cultivation. More than 200 farmers from Jharkhand and Odisha have gathered in this year’s farmer’s conclave to share their experiences and learn new methods in farming.
