AP’s Chandranna Bhima scheme protects farmers

Srikakulam: Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu kicked off celebrations of Eruvaka Pournami, an occasion to rejoice the onset of monsoon and the commencement of agriculture operations in the state, by announcing Chandranna Rythu Bhima at Amudalavalasa here on Thursday.

The scheme will be applicable to farmers up to 70 years of age. If any farmer dies accidentally or suffers permanent disability, his family members would be entitled to a payment of Rs 5 lakh. In case of natural death, the farmer’s family would get Rs 30,000.
