‘Farmers should go for organic farming’

Om Jajodia, Proprietor, Krishi Kranti Kendra called upon farmers to go for organic farming so that their income would increase manifold. Jajodia was speaking at a session on ‘Cultivating nursery as a business’ organsied by Lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing of Vidarbha Industries Association (LEW-VIA) to market the celebration of Earth Day. He explained the importance of organic farming. He shed light on the opportunities in the organic farming and weak points in the marketing of produce. He insisted participants to opt for old, traditional technologies. He said, “Now-a-days nursery is the best option, we can develop yield and quality by investing less in nursery.

By adopting convention system, we can take optimum output by keeping catalizer as a nursery system.” Dr Lal Singh, Scientist, Ecosystem Division, NEERI, Nagpur conducted a session on ‘Ecological Rejuvenation Technology.’ He explained in detail about the technology which is used in contaminated, degraded polluted areas. Dr Vachaspati Pande, senior scientist of RCOF, Nagpur conducted session on ‘Skill development in organic farming and certificate courses’.
