7th CMS Vatavaran – Asia’s Largest Film Festival and Forum on Environment & Wildlife

We are glad to invite you to register as Delegate for the 7th CMS VATAVARAN
– Asia’s Largest Film Festival and Forum on Environment & Wildlife – from
(Thursday – Monday) Jan 30 to Feb 03, 2014 at IGNCA lawns, New Delhi.

The festival theme this year is ‘Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation,’
to promote living in harmony with nature. This theme is also significant in
the context of the recently held 11th Conference of Parties (CoP-11) to the
United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) at Hyderabad, India
and UN Decade of Biodiversity 2011- 2022.

To  celebrate  India’s  presidency  of CoP 11, more than 150 films, best of
world’s  biodiversity  cinema,  48 thematic sessions, talks, deliberations,
contemporary discourses, eco-trips, workshops, exhibitions, music festival,
organic green haat, organic food festival, film store and much more will be
organised to commemorate the occasion.

The talks, expert and film sessions have been planned around environmental,
political,  governance,  social  and economic aspects of the conservation &
sustainable  management  of  biodiversity  across  six  sub-themes  of  the
festival:  Coastal  &  Marine  Biodiversity,  Forest Biodiversity, Mountain
Biodiversity,  Inland  Waters  &  Wetlands Biodiversity, and Communication,
Education & Public Awareness.
