The Delhi government is going to organise a Jashn-e-Sarson festival on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to celebrate organic mustard and affirm its stand against genetically-modified (GM) mustard
The Tourism and Art and Culture Language Departments of the Delhi government will celebrate organic mustard, its products and host a cultural programme at Dilli Haat, INA, on October 2. The cultural event will include performances by poet Sambhaji Bhagat and a qawali troupe.
Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the government is organising the festival to make the public aware of its stand on GM mustard.
The government also plans to invite State Agriculture Ministers, religious and political leaders, and members of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies to give their views on mustard.
