Natural farming a success at Khalsa College organic farms
Amritsar, Feb 22: With a focus on encouraging natural-farming practices, the Khalsa College organic farms have expanded their produce to seasonal fruits and flowers. With the spring season approaching, the 35 acres of land inside the college premises has reaped a produce, including vegetables like broccoli, bottle gourd along with sugarcane, fruits like banana, guava and flowers.
Prof Rajbir Singh, farming expert and in charge of the farms at Khalsa College, says their initial yield was 40 quintals of wheat from one acre and thereon it has been on an increase.
