Second phase of inspection of organic certification on

Mangaluru, June 1: The second phase inspection of organic certification of farmers’ societies by Karnataka State Organic Certification Agency (KSOCA) is under progress, said H Kempegowda, joint director, agriculture department.

A total of 4,512 organic farmers from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts have formed a regional federation of organic farmers with 44 societies registered as per the Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act, Kempegowda said while addressing the participants of Organic Farmers’ Fair held under the aegis of departments of agriculture and horticulture at Kadri Park here on Tuesday. The first phase of organic certification by the KSOCA has been completed, he added.
