Penetration of multinational seed companies in Indian market and mindless use of pesticides and fertilizers have proved burden for Indian farmers. Not only this, government sponsored and promoted seeds often putting farmers in fix, they cannot deny this nor can accept it. In this process poor farmers are becoming the victims. Similarly, hybrid seeds are being promoted to facilitate GM in agriculture. That’s ostensibly the reason Government of India is bringing BRAI bill. But the bill has ignored the stake of states. Agriculture being a state subject, the consent of state government and farmers should be taken into consideration.
